Yes it would have but I think a much better outcome would have been the Government controlling the property market through taxes in particular changes to the Capital Gains Tax system. I feel this would have slowed down the property merry go round where we having properties being bought and then sold again before they were even built. I think this would have been a better control mechanism rather than interest rates which I feel is a blunt instrument and has impact across the whole economy.

we are trying to make the auction as buyer friendly as possible. Basically if you are successful on the day you will be asked to pay a £1000 non returnable deposit but apart from that it is not binding on the purchaser. The purchase process will thereafter start in the normal way with your solicitor submitting an offer and matters progressing towards an agreed date of entry.

This is very interesting reading and at a time when we are seeing the market improving it is a sobering thought that the level of lending may be cut to such levels. We are all watching with interest and caution what is happing in the property market just now and the recovery we desperately need may be some time away.
